30 years ago, The Rock Shop Inc. was a small shop about the size of your living room that offered quality merchandise at a discount price,  by musicans, for musicians.  Today, not much has changed , except we're a little bigger and sell some of the biggest names in the world of guitars.

We give all of our guitars a little love. Every one of them has been removed from packing, inspected, set-up, played and kept in a stable humidity monitored environment.  Some of the differences you will find between us and the big chain and box stores is that instead of a telephone operator or email only, you can call Troy, Pete, Steve, Jay or Todd and talk to a real instrument specialist.

Guitar Rental Program

The Rock Shop is now renting guitars for our students. $60.00 gets you a guitar of your choice (acoustic or electric). Rental is for 2 months of lessons. Lesson fees are extra. At the end of the 2 months you can apply the rental fee of the guitar towards any in-stock instrument. Check with store for futher details

Music Lessons

Offering Instruction for Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano and Folk Instruments

Teachers: Jeff Cunningham, Steve Kannall, Pete Rock, Jay Larson, Kirk Donley, Dave Littrell and Tim Harte, Alex Whalen

NO CONTRACTS, NO SIGN-UP FEES We just simply ask that you pay for a month's worth of lessons at a time. Most teachers are $60.00 that would be 4 private one on one 30minute lessons, one per week, or, $15.00 per lesson.

How to Sign Up

To sign up for lessons, just come in the store and we can check the schedule (yours and ours) and see which teacher and time slot is good for you. It's that simple. We have couches in the lesson area for the parents to hang out, snack machines. The lesson rooms have windows so you can check on the progress of the lesson, or you can even sit in.

LESSON ROOMS

In 2007, we moved to 1808 W. Jefferson, which is right across the street from the old location.

We have a much larger showroom, in fact we are now the largest music store in central Illinois with almost 7000 square feet.
